ErectSoftInc.com - Rest In Peace (for the time being)
|
|
|
The screen cut to the left shows the home page of the site I created at GoDaddy for erectsoftinc.com ... just in case any
readers of Team Player who tried the url to the ficticious company tried to go there, they would actually go to a site that, though it looks nothing like the site in the book, would at least display its
absurd messages.
Unfortunately, Godaddy screwed up the link to the site and repeated inquiries to their support staff proved to be nothing
more than a waste of time, the url now leads to this page.
To be continued to your left ...

Again, to your left, is the cover of a book of stories that come from the people who work in the courseware industry. If
you click on the cover, you’ll get a PDF download of the book so far. These are stories that will make you laugh, smile, chuckle, snicker and giggle. Be warned though ... if you work - or have worked -
in the courseware industry, they may just make you cringe or cry. They may even push you over the deep end into complete insanity. If you’re still in the industry, this may not be a bad thing ... it may
mean advancement to management. If you’re already a manager, you may be able to trick people into thinking that you know what you’re doing. Anybody for a good Gantt story?
Here’s the thing ... you tell your story in NotAPixelOfSanity. Just send it to me in the body of an email or as an
attachment in rtf format. Use your own name, or a fictitious name. Write a long story or a short story. Write a series of case examples, submit a course plan, an absurd Gantt chart, an eLearning
specification for insanity.

Here’s the kinds of people who are sending stuff in: instructional designers, managers, knowledge engineers, programmers,
graphic artists, quality specialists, subject matter experts, former VPs and Ps, sales and marketing people, and many many others. It’s a big industry with lots of room for madness in a wide variety of
occupations. I know you have a story. You know you have a story. Send me your story. It may even be a healing process. Since starting this little project, I’ve stopped howling at the moon ... at least on
weekdays.
Oh yeah, I suppose I should mention: I worked in the courseware business since way back when it was called CBT and we all
thought that this new technology would bring education, enlightenment and a better life to people around the world.
Or something like that.

My apologies to Brock Parks for taking liberties with his artwork for Team Player for the cover of
NotAPixelOfSanity.
